lsd is a young improvisation-collective, formed by three young musicians, based in Vienna (Austria), who are part of a platform for improvised music and sound art.
The name lsd is composed of the initial letters of their family names. At the same time it is an allusion to the drug lysergic acid diethylamide. The title of their first CD “trippig” (published by einklang records) underlines the association of making a journey into another state of consciousness that is also connected to the drug LSD. This other state of consciousness – just to return to the music of lsd – is carefully unfurled like a flying carpet that slowly takes off, leaves the ground of reality, and takes you on a musical journey, provided you are ready to get yourself into this trip. Now the CD „tripping“ is presented on release-tour with concerts in Brno, Prague, Berlin, Hamburg and Oslo. The theme “tripping” also includes the expression “to go on a trip”, which means to leave behind every-day-life and to open up for new experiences with different people and different cultures. The main goal of lsd is, to let all this experiences influence the improvisations that will be played during the concerts of their release-tour.
