Pedro Gómez-Egana will present some of the recent work framed within his research in the relationships between temporality and the catastrophic. Gomez-Egana’s work reacts to the idea that, on the one hand, the fundamental component in our understanding of catastrophe is that of shock, while, on the other, this mediatic logic also renders an affective landscape of suspension and ghostlyness. It is this landscape what is explored in his recent work and present in this Open Studio.
At the centre of this Open Studio will be a performance produced as the result of a collaborative exploration with Amsterdam based artist Milena Bonilla: a device that is in itself a ghostly apparition and a haunted presence. Welcome, please use the entrance at the back side of Kunstnernes Hus.
