Open Forum presents: MARTHA ROSLER

Martha Rosler, born in New York, where she lives today, studied at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and received her MFA at the University of California in San Diego in 1974. She taught at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

She has published many books of photographs, texts, and commentary on public space, ranging from airports and roads to housing and homelessness. Her work has been seen in the “Documenta” exhibition in Kassel, Germany; several Whitney biennials; the Institute of Contemporary Art in London; the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Dia Center for the Arts in New York; and many other international venues.

In her performances, videos, textual works, photographs, and installations,
Martha Rosler confronts her audiences with political subjects and the role
of the media, analyzing quotidian, domestic, and urban life from a feminist
viewpoint not altogether devoid of humor.

For Open Forum, Martha Rosler will share her research by showing
recent works.
