Timba fra Bergen

Orquesta Cuba Tropical har på kort tid etablert seg som Vestlandets mest aktive salsaband. Gruppen spiller et stort spekter av ulike stilarter: gitarbasert son i stil med Buena Vista Social Club, new yorkisk og colombiansk salsa, og ikke minst bandets spesialitet: den moderne cubanske salsaen – timba. I tillegg spiller de tradisjonelle latinosjangrer som merengue, bolero, cumbia og cha-cha-cha. Til BIMF har bandet invitert stjernetrompetisten Silverio Puentes fra Cuba som topper et allerede bunnsolid komp, anført av Luison Capote og Hades Hernandes. Det vil være dansekurs før konserten fra kl 20.00 med Raymi el Cacique som er åpent for danselystne på alle nivåer. Om du vil lære deg å danse også, bør du planlegge for en helaften!

Orquesta Cuba Tropical has, over a short amount of time, established themselves as Western Norway’s most active salsa band. The group plays a large spectrum of styles, from guitar based rhythms like Buena Vista Social Club, New York and Colombian salsa, as well as the bands specialty, timba. In addition they play traditional latino genres like merengue, bolero, cumbia and cha-cha-cha. The band is also bringing the star Cuban trumpeter, Silverio Punetes, to the BIMF stage. There will be dance instruction with Raymi el Cacique at 8 pm, before the concert, for those of all backgrounds and ability. We recommend you to make a night out of it!
