Adam Krause’s “Art as Politics” discusses the ways in which the arts have been corrupted by capitalist encroachment. The arts could and should act as a key element in living cultures, serving to shape our understanding of ourselves, the world, and one another, but the capitalist drive to turn anything and everything into a source of profit, has transformed human creativity into a mere commodity, rather than a source of shared meaning and value.
