The Melding Plague is a nanotech virus that attacks anything that has nanotechnology present within it and does not discriminate between human and machine. It attempts to meld the nanomachines and implants that are commonly present in the bodies of humans, with the structure of their body on a cellular level. This results in horrific, uncontrollable modifications to the body of whoever is infected and almost inevitably leads to death.

Utstillingen Melding Plauge følger Christian Boulds utforskning av vitenskapen bak naturlige prosesser, og går nærmere inn på organismer som kan ta kontroll over hjernefunksjoner og kroppens motorikk. Bould har lenge jobbet med representasjoner av teorier og fenomener som er å finne innenfor nanoteknologi, kvantefysikk, bioteknologi og genetikk. Med både fiktive og faktiske kilder har Bould satt sammen en utstilling med tegning, lyd, video, skulptur og soppinfiserte insekter. Tittelen Melding Plauge er tatt fra Alastair Reynolds bok Revelation Space.

Christian Bould (1978) er en norsk-britisk kunstner bosatt i Oslo. Han var senest aktuell med gruppetstillingen Transit Vestfold på Haugar Vestfold Kunstmuseum i Tønsberg og i sammarbeidsprosjektet Between Black and White med Chris Bould på Larvik Kunstforening. Han var med på å starte No. 9 Visningsrom, og SKATV. Han er for tiden rektor på Prosjektskolen, og har hatt en rekke utstillinger i inn og utland.
