Book launch and presentation by Johan Lundh and Anja Ulset

Published by Ctrl+Z Publishing

Bergen Art Guide is a visitors’ guide to a series of imagined works of art, located throughout the public realm of the city of Bergen, Norway. The book features works by artists such as Daniel Buren, Thomas Hirschhorn, Franz Kline, Gordon Matta-Clark, and Robert Smithson, documented by emerging Bergen-based artists Anja Ulset. For the publication, Ulset has engineered a framework for tracing, highlighting and undermining our understanding of recent art history and notions of public art. Besides Ulset’s photos, Bergen Art Guide also include a contextualizing essay by Berlin-based curators and writers Aileen Burns and Johan Lundh.

Anja Ulset recived her MA from the Bergen National Academy of the Arts in 2010. She has exhibited her artworks and publications at Bergen Kunsthall, Bergen; Bergen Kjøtt, Bergen; Knipsu, Bergen; Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna; Kurant, Tromsø, among other places.

Aileen Burns is an art historian and curator, and Johan Lundh a curator, writer and translator. They have recently curated exhibitions and projects for FormContent, London; Overgaden ICA, Copenhagen; and International Contemporary Art Foundation 3,14, Bergen.
