Marianne Hurum has made five photograms for the exhibition at NoPlace.

Norwegian and foreign newspapers are sliced, wrinkled and composed on photographic paper in the total darkness of the darkroom. The imprints of the objects and actions create the motives in this analogue photographic expression.

The part random and intuitive process that takes place in the dark is the creation of analogue magic and painterly expression.

The titles of the works reflect the time and place of production. The motives in the piece 9 januar (125×160cm), which fills the back wall of the gallery space, is taken from Norwegian national newspapers of that date and produced the same day. Russell Avenue (21×27cm) is a residence in Los Angeles where the material for this work was found.
