Beaten To Death + support: Shevils & Friendship

Bandet består av Anders Bakke (She Said Destroy), Martin Rygge (Insense, Tvang), Tommy Hjelm (Insense), Mika Martinussen og Christian Svendsen (Tsjuder, Cumshots, Gothminister).

“It would be a shame if the band’s lack of corpsepaint and tremolo-picking prevented debut Xes and Strokes from reaching ears beyond their homeland, because the album took just 18 and a half minutes to explode and then completely rewire my brain, and it could do the same for you” “Xes and Strokes is more than just well-played – it’s a sonic manifesto. In song after song, Beaten To Death punch holes through grindcore’s low ceiling, let some air in and balance their earthly savagery with guitar jangle aimed straight towards the heavens. It’s a panoramic new vision for grindcore, Norwegian or otherwise” (Decibel 9/10)

Shevils is one of those bands that definitely do not content themselves with pure nostalgia within the hardcore genre. Instead they spice it up with secret ingredients and cook up a deadly mixture of Scandinavian Hardcore and American Hard Rock with everything from Norwegian jazz to whatever neverbeforeheardof indie act as topping. With their militant rehearsal philosophy, combined with kickass songwriting skills, Shevils has become almost unbeatable in both quality and quantity.

Shevils is pure sexiness driven by suggestive fast riffs and a singer who thrash up any audience.

Friendship is a new Norwegian band based in Oslo who’s name derives from a well known Norwegian progressive record released in 1971 by Junipher Greene. The members of Friendship hail from various musical backgrounds, each with a range of musical experience and a variety of gigs. However, their motivation is unified; to hunt the groove.

Friendship is a power trio whose goal is to recreate the electric atmosphere of the late 60s, when riotous guitars met rough soul. The band is set to release a 7” single in August. The debut release is recorded live in the studio through the rustic tape recorder method. In addition to playing many gigs in Norway, Friendship will also be playing throughout Europe.
