Come and create your own wallpaper with our interactive, generative, crazy, wallpaper creation machine.

A one day workshop run by ART+COM Berlin and brought to you by Grafill Interaktiv.

This workshop will help you explore generative design and the potential coding has for creating highly visual work. You will use ‘Processing’ (which is an open source coding language, originally developed to help artists and designers learn the fundamentals of programming) to create your own wallpaper.

Control freaks beware: MUSTERTAPETE explores what can happen when design is left to chance. Using the methods of object oriented coding, participants will experiment hard and iterate fast in a powerful sandbox lovingly run by your hosts.

You will create your wallpaper and print it off at the workshop – then you are free to paste it on your walls when you get home.

Who should attend?
Anyone who wants to explore the potential of code in design
and visual work creation.

No hardcore coding experience is required but an understanding of some basic coding principles would be good. It is key to be interested in the potential of code as a design tool.

Knowing what a “sandbox” is and “iteration” means is not necessary as you will be introduced to that at the workshop.

What you must bring?
- A laptop. The laptop should be running Processing (instructions will be sent out prior to
the workshop for those who need help getting Processing onto their machines).
If you don’t have your own laptop and want to attend, Grafill have two machines that can be used – please contact to arrange.

How much does it cost?
kr 300 – This is to cover paper for your wallpaper and lunch. You can pay on the door.
