ABOUT BLANKSPACE

It is my pleasure to introduce you to blankspace, a multi-functional creative space in Kværnerbyen. We are a newer space, celebrating our success by providing the Norwegian public access to international art that is meant to inspire. We have begun with a simple motto – We aim to bridge the gap between artist and buyer as well as artwork to viewer. We fight for the average human’s ability to appreciate and love art without judgment and bias. Since opening nearly 6 months ago, we have since spread our goals to also encompass forms of art that we feel are underrepresented in the Norwegian Fine Art scene – street art, comic books, illustration, animation, printmaking, photography, painting and more.
We offer workshops and classes for everyone, from enthusiasts to working professionals of all ages. We will begin to host lectures and demonstrations for the public very shortly, including world renowned painters and animators from across the world. We believe education and open conversation is necessary for a healthy market.
Please take a look at this summary of the next 6 months of our line-up. I would be pleased to send you individual press releases for each event, if you see something of interest to you or your publication.

CURRENT EXHIBITION

_Sketchy– _Runs until October 20th

In this show we have the unique pleasure to feature over 15 sketchbooks from around the world, varying from world renowned illustrator Sterling Hundley to Disney Animation’s own Mingjue Helen Chen. The sketchbooks are free to look through and offer a unique insight into the massive amounts of work that goes into an artist’s career well before any finished piece has ever begun.
