The Norwegian trio Bitch Split Panic and Swiss – South African duo Beat Keller & Reza Khota are going on tour 27. October – 1. November in Norway and 7. – 9. November in Switzerland. The annual festival of exploratory music and arts, EDGE OF WRONG, is hosting this tour as an extension of its African – European awsomeness. The festival has been running 11 times in South Africa and in Norway with the kind support of Swiss Pro Helvetia among others.

Beat Keller & Reza Khota play Microexercises (2006) by Christian Wolff ( Beat Keller, electric guitar ( Reza Khota, electric guitar). Swiss guitarist and composer Beat Keller recently spent six-weeks in Cape Town on an Artist in Residency programme, made possible by the Swiss Arts Council “Pro Helvetia”. Beat came in contact with Christian Wolff’s music when he played with him in a sextet for a tour in Switzerland. Wolff is part of the experimental New York-school, along with fellow composers John Cage, Morton Feldman and Earl Brown. Their interpretations has absorbed and surprised audiences with its Zen-like sense of space, minimalism and focus on sonic detail. The success of these concerts culminated in a studio recording shortly afterward which is due for release in 2013.

Bitch Split Panic is a wild horse in the wrong place. An improvising power trio from Norway consisting of Marius Simonsen (drums), Morten Minothi Kristiansen (guitar) and Ole Kristian Wetten (bass) and (!) Sigurd Ytre-Arne (he joins us un the Swiss leg). A culture clash between the established and the unestablished, pop meets noise. Their code of communtication is the gloryfiction of mistakes. A kind of antimusic perhaps. Visceral soundscapes and neurotic outbursts, familiar and unfamiliar sounds side by side. Its noisy and nice…sometimes.
