About Cliff Wallace –

.
Cliff Wallace is one of the Hollywood go-to guys for special effects design, though he himself might deny it. Working in the industry over 30 years, while seeing the steady rise of computer graphics and digital manipulation in the film industry, his resume is as diverse as the monsters he imagines for such high profile visionaries as Guillermo Del Toro, Danny Boyle, and Marc Foster. In his history of projects, Wallace has worked diligently on nearly hundreds of films, such as Hellraiser, Hellboy 2, World War Z, 28 Days Later, Quantum of Solace, Blood Diamond, Blackhawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, as well as TV and music videos ranging from his design work in the popular Dr. Who TV series to involvement with Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, Franz Ferdinand, Fat Boy Slim and more.
.
Delivered from his Creature Effects Studio in London, Cliff Wallace will be exhibiting dozens of his own personal works he has accomplished over his years of hard work and dedication to his craft. Of his work, Mr. Wallace states “I don’t produce work with the intention of selling it or exhibiting it – that’s very much a byproduct, and it is lovely if it happens, but mostly I’m doing it because I need to do it. Even after all this time, I need to sit down with a bag of mud and a sharp stick, or a pen and paper, and dream something into being.” Featured in this show will be works emphasizing Wallace’s signature style, filled with creepy portraits, demonic beings and gruesome figures. Heralding from his first hit design of Pinhead from the cult Hellraiser series, his works feel like surreal beings that have invaded the human realm.
.
Cliff Wallace has also agreed to host lectures, open to the public, during his stay in Oslo. The artist will be present at the opening reception, January 24th 2012 from 18:00 -21:00, for all questions and inquiries about him, his process, and his vast experience in one of the most exciting industries for the past 100 years.

About blankspace –
.
blankspace is an artist run facility that strives to fill the gaps present in the art world today, from artist to buyer as well as artwork to audience. They strive to open back up the transference of ideas from outsiders and strike down the exclusivity of art. While currently functioning primarily as a gallery that focuses on contemporary applications of traditional skills, they also offer workshops and classes to anyone, beginner or master, wanting to understand the craft better. In the future, they hope to expand to offer a full printing / painting studio to the public, as well as offer full-time courses in various fields of art. They will host discussions, lectures, and special exhibits from special artists across the world.
.
They are located 5 minutes from Oslo S by bus, in the up and coming district of Kværnerbyen.
