Vokale penselstrøk:
Vokale penselstrøk er et høyst tekstbasert verk med poetiske og filosofiske innfallsvinkler, der en fragmentert usammenhengende tekst skrevet av komponisten genererer ulike setninger, idet noen ord hviskes mens andre snakkes eller synges. Slik beveger verket seg i en tilstand mellom abstrakt og konkret tekst, og mellom hvisking, snakking og synging… MER INFORMASJON:

NORTHARC PERCUSSION
NorthArc is North Norway’s percussion collective. Founded in 2011 and selected as a 2014 Ensemblestøtte recipient, NorthArc Percussion is dedicated to commissioning new work, collaborating in cross-cultural and cross-art productions, and creating projects with North-Norwegian art institutions.

In 2014, NorthArc will appear at the Avgarde series (Bergen) featuring the work of Thomas Meadowcroft and Manos Tsanaris, at the Festspillene i Nord- Norge (Harstad) performing Iannis Xenakis Pleaides in collaboration with FMKN , at Nødutgangfestivalen (Bodø) featuring a new 30-minute work for percussion choir by Arnt Håkon Ånesen in collaboration with Ylajali ensemble. To close the season, NorthArc will host a Scandinavian tour of Michael Gordon’s evening-length sextet for planks of wood, Timber. Venues include the GAS Festival (Gothenburg), Ny Musikk (Oslo), and Århus.

Previously, NorthArc appeared at the Festspillene i Nord Norge 2012 as guest artists in Jennifer Torrence’s Ungkunstner prosjekt, Water Walk. Also in 2012, NorthArc hosted the Bodø John Cage festival in collaboration with NOSO and many of Bodø’s local ensembles. NorthArc debut project, Strike/Illuminate, featured the music of Mauricio Kagel and three world premiere works from upcoming female composers, including Anna Thorvaldsdottir. Strike/Illuminate toured four Nordic countries and was featured on series such as Avgarde (Bergen) and Jordbær (Reykjavik).
