Moldover kicks off his 2017 European Tour in support of his new album Four Track in Oslo at Kafe Hærverk. Witness “The Godfather of Controllerism’s” Norwegian debut, performing original songs that fuse glitch-hop, metal, and complextro, with growly blues vocals and guitars. Support comes from local legend Captain Credible, hot of the new playable-packaging release of his album Fantasy Mansion. Witness two of a rare breed of artists on the same night, both audacious enough to design insanely fantastic instruments in the pursuit of unimaginable musical experiences.

History notes only a handful of artists who successfully pushed the limits – both with their music and with the design of their musical instruments. What Bach was to the keyboard and Hendrix was to the guitar, Moldover is to the controller. Disillusioned with “press play DJs”, Moldover fans eagerly welcome electronic music’s return to virtuosity, improvisation, and emotional authenticity. Dig deeper into Moldover’s world and you’ll uncover a subversive cultural icon who is jolting new life into physical media with “Playable Packaging”, sparking beautiful collaborations with his custom “Jamboxes”, and drawing wave after wave of followers with an open-source approach to sharing his methods and madness.

Four Track is Moldover’s newest album, which follows the success of his eponymous debut record and the live mashup mixes that first brought him to prominence. Inspired by the honest simplicity of the songs he wrote as a teenager, as well as recent experiences of lost love and family tragedy, Moldover has painstakingly alchemized a dozen new songs, equally heartfelt and magnetic. Merging rich vocal harmonies, organically.

Captain Credible is the crazy-scientist project of Daniel Eugene Lacey-McDermott. A curious artist who emerged from Trondheim in 2008 and has been terrorizing audiences all over Europe ever since. Resurrected as a meta musical presence in a not-so-easily defined genre, he claims Aphex Twin, Sex Pistols and Aaron Carter have helped him form his own image. The Captain refers to his sounds as “filthy drunk beats bathing in a lake of melting synthesizers and old Nintendo cartridges”.

On a stage filled with home made electronics and songs about dead cats and pure code the Captain regales his listeners with epic adventures through time and space. With jaw dropping performances at festivals like Øya, Hove, by:Larm, Slottsfjell, Ragnarock (Milan), Pictoplasma (Berlin) as well as support tours for Casiokids, The Show Is The Rainbow and Slagsmålsklubben he might be considered underground, but is making waves in his own right. His debut EP ‘Planet of the Eternal Electro Breakdance Orgy’ was released on the small but credible Norwegian label How Is Annie Records (Youth Pictures, The Little Hands of Asphalt) and his second EP “Mountain Cloudboy” gained notoriety online.

June 2016 marked the release of the second EP in a series of three printed circuit boards on the Metronomicon Audio label. This EP “Fantasy Mansion” Is unique in that the physical printed circuitboard is responsible for generating part of the music on the EP. Each time you plug in your headphone jack, a new song is generated by the microcontroller on the circuitboard using a bunch of complex 8bit maths equations and your “perlington demon radiation signature”. Simply plug in your headphones and a small “perlington demon gate” harvests compositions fhom the ether. This time the circuit board includes the ability to be played as a musical instrument and 32step 4 voice sequencer with drums. It even syncs to external gear!
