The Power of Mantra

Relax, be inspired and find peace with a half-day course on the ancient practice of mantra recitation. Learn how we can use this practice to purify our mind, stay positive and draw close to the Buddhas.

“Mantra” is a sanskrit word meaning “mind-protection”, it is the supreme method to accomplish spiritual realisations, pacify negative thoughts and receive blessings or inspiration from enlightened beings.

The afternoon will include a combination of teachings, guided meditations and a short session of chanting the mantra of the Buddha of Compassion. We will learn how to combine mantra recitation with breathing meditation and also how to use mantras in the context of our daily lives.

The Teacher
Gen Kelsang Dragpa is a Modern Kadampa Buddhist monk and the National Spiritual Director of the Nordic Region. He is the Principal Teacher at Nordic Kadampa Meditation Centre, Oslo.

He received ordination in 1993 from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and is one of his most senior disciples. Gen Dragpa has taught extensively in the Netherlands, UK, Belgium and France.

His teachings are very practical and easy to understand. They offer profound solutions to our everyday problems.
