Sommerkonsertserien Gutvik Ukentlig er inne i sitt tjueandre år med konserter hver tirsdag fra tirsdag fra 30. juli til 3. september. Nå er det MIR som gjelder og en trio med den tyske London-baserte bassisten Otto Willberg, den Norgebaserte slovenske trommeslageren Michaela Antalová, og selvsagt Ketil Gutvik, pryder hovedprogrammet . Perkusjonsvidunderet Jonan Evenstad er ukens Ungsoloen.
Otto Willberg plays various bass instruments and lives in London. Live, Otto performs unashamedly melodic improvisational workouts created almost entirely with heavily filtered bass harmonica and electric bass. Strangely abstracted funk and fusion, a blend of the abstruse and immediate. silky smooth, luxurious, odd and compelling, "like listening to Eberhard Weber through a drainpipe”.
Otto is often heard on acoustic and electric bass with Laurie Tompkins (Yes Indeed) and Charles Hayward (Abstract Concrete//This Heat), as well as the fractured No Wave unit Historically Fucked. His previous solo releases have ranged from extended technique double bass to explorations of the acoustics of a 19th century artillery fort. He has a solo record called ’The Leisure Principle’ out on Oren Ambarchi’s the Black Truffle label. 6 unashamedly melodic & profoundly strange workouts for heavily filtered bass harmonica & electric bass!
With a passion for drums and a deep connection to the traditional Slovak flute fujara, Michaela Antalová, a Slovak composing percussionist and flutist based in Oslo, Norway, weaves her musical narrative by intertwining the threads of her roots in archaic folk traditions with a contemporary and improvisational approach.
Her percussive prowess extends beyond conventional boundaries, exploring the rhythmic landscapes of both traditional and experimental realms. As a trailblazer in the Norwegian music scene, Antalová leads the quartet Mikoo, captivating audiences with music that blends indie and experimental styles.
Collaborating with Kim Myhr, Chris Corsano, Inger Hannsidal, Atle Nymo, Mats Eilertsen, Helga Myhr, Le Quan Ninh, Ivar Grydeland, Lucie Páchová, Knut Reiersrud, Shbli Saleem, Martin Küchen and Bjarte Eike.

Jonas Evenstad – With an expressive play and creative soundworld, Jonas Evenstad has established himself as a leading voice in Oslos younger genereation of contemporary musicians. Through deep studies in modernistic, experimental and minimalistic work, he brings insight in the development of new music – both as a co-composer and improviser. His portifolio contains music by Karlheinz Stockhausen, John Cage, Morton Felman and Iannis Xenakis. He is currently studying at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.
